Oblivion: The Dream of Becoming Your True Self & Discovery of Individuality

The names of the people who lived here long ago have faded/drifted into oblivion. 2 : the state of being unconscious or unaware : the state of not knowing what is going on around you After being awake for three days straight, he longed for the oblivion of sleep. She drank herself into oblivion. 3 : the state of being destroyed The little village was bulldozed into oblivion to make way for the airport. The mental state definition of oblivion is typically used when someone drinks to the point where they become unconscious and forget their sorrow. I substitute “drinking” with “thinking” to show that my own thoughts caused me to depart from reality. My own thoughts departed me from Reality. “The Drum Major Instinct”  Dr. King preached this sermon from the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church February 4th 1968. 2 months later, he was assassinated.   I still remember hearing the Drum Major Instinct Sermon for the first time. I was saturated in negativity and was seeking answers to the frustrations I was feeling.
